4 Tips For a Happy & Healthy Holiday

It’s that time of year again!!! Parties, celebrations, get togethers, and plenty of opportunity to over due it. The abundance of sweet treats, drinks, and food make it to easy to over indulge leaving us feeling not so fresh for the new year. Here are some easy tips to keep you feeling healthy throughout the year.

1. Chew your food- One of the main causes of indigestion is swallowing food before it is completely broken down. Chewing your food thoroughly will improve digestion and help you loose weight as you will feel full faster. Every mouth full should be chewed at least 50 times before swallowing.

2.  Stay Hydrated– Be sure to drink plenty of water during this time of year to help flush out all the sugar and toxins.

3. Daily Fasting– In order for your body to detox it needs to take a break from digestion, as those two processes can not happen at the same time. Fasting can happen on a daily basis if you can take a break from eating for 10-12 hours a day, and yes sleeping counts! So have dinner before 6pm and don’t consume anything but water until 6am the next day.

4. Keep Breathing– If you find yourself overwhelmed by the choices and events of this time of year be sure to take a deep breath (in through your nose and out through your mouth) to help calm your mind and make healthy choices.

Keep these tips in mind this holiday season and when you are ready to recuperate from the stress and reset your heath.
